N.C.P.I.—Crim. 271.44
[DISPLAYING] [CAUSING TO BE DISPLAYED] [PERMITTING TO BE DISPLAYED] [POSSESSING] A [REGISTRATION CARD] [CERTIFICATE OF TITLE] [REGISTRATION NUMBER PLATE] THAT IS [FICTITIOUS] [HAS BEEN [CANCELLED] [REVOKED] [SUSPENDED] [ALTERED]]. INFRACTION.
The defendant has been charged with [displaying] [causing to be
displayed] [permitting to be displayed] [possessing] a [registration card]
[certificate of title] [registration number plate] for a vehicle knowing that the
[[registration card] [certificate of title] [registration number plate]] [[was
fictitious] [had been [canceled] [revoked] [suspended] [altered]]].
For you to find the defendant responsible of this offense, the State
must prove two things beyond a reasonable doubt:
First, that the defendant [displayed] [caused to be displayed]
[permitted to be displayed] [possessed] a [registration card] [certificate of
title] [registration number plate] on a vehicle.
And Second, that the defendant knew that the [[registration card]
[certificate of title] [registration number plate]] [[was fictitious] [had been
[canceled] [revoked] [suspended] [altered]]].
If you find from the evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that on or
about the alleged date, the defendant [displayed] [caused to be displayed]
[permitted to be displayed] [possessed] a [registration card] [certificate of
title] [registration number plate] for a vehicle and that the defendant knew
the [[registration card] [certificate of title] [registration number plate]]
[[was fictitious] [had been [canceled] [revoked] [suspended] [altered]]], it
would be your duty to return a verdict of responsible. If you do not so find
or have a reasonable doubt as to one or more of these things, it would be
your duty to return a verdict of not responsible.
