N.C.P.I.—Crim. 259.31

PRACTICE AS A CLINICAL ADDICTION SPECIALIST WITHOUT A LICENSE- USING [LETTERS] [WORDS] [NUMERICAL CODES] [INSIGNIA]. MISDEMEANOR.

For you to find the defendant guilty of this offense, the State must

prove two things beyond a reasonable doubt:

First, that the defendant was not [registered] [certified] [licensed]

as a clinical addiction specialist.

And Second, that the defendant used in connection with any name

any [letters] [words] [numerical codes] [insignia] that [indicated]

[implied] that the defendant was a [registrant] [certified alcohol and drug

counselor] [certified prevention specialist] [certified clinical supervisor]

[licensed clinical addiction specialist] [certified substance abuse

residential facility director] [alcohol and drug counselor intern] [certified

criminal justice addiction professional] [licensed clinical addiction

specialist associate1].

If you find from the evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that on or

about the alleged date the defendant was not [registered] [certified]

[licensed] as a clinical addiction specialist and used in connection with

any name any [letters] [words] [numerical codes] [insignia] that

[indicated] [implied] that the defendant was a [registrant] [certified

alcohol and drug counselor] [certified prevention specialist] [certified

clinical supervisor] [licensed clinical addiction specialist] [certified

substance abuse residential facility director] [alcohol and drug counselor

intern] [certified criminal justice addiction professional] [licensed clinical

addiction specialist associate], it would be your duty to return a verdict of

guilty. If you do not so find or have a reasonable doubt as to one or

more of these things, then it would be your duty to return a verdict of not

guilty.
