N.C.P.I.—Crim. 239.31
CONCEALMENT OF DEATH-FAILURE TO NOTIFY LAW ENFORCEMENT OF DEATH OF CHILD OR SECRETLY BURYING CHILD. FELONY.
The defendant has been charged with concealing the death of a
child.
For you to find the defendant guilty of this offense, the State must
prove two things beyond a reasonable doubt:
First, that the defendant intended to conceal the death of a child
less than 16 years of age.
Second, that the defendant [failed to notify a law enforcement
authority of the death] [[secretly buried] [secretly disposed of] a dead
child’s body].
If you find from the evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that on or
about the alleged date the defendant intentionally concealed the death
of a child by [failing to notify law enforcement authority of the death]
[[secretly burying] [secretly disposing of] a dead child’s body]], it would
be your duty to return a verdict of guilty. If you do not so find or have a
reasonable doubt as to one or more of these things, then it would be
your duty to return a verdict of not guilty.
