Drugs and biologicals pertaining to the terminal diagnosis are reimbursed

to the hospice as part of the hospice per diem. DHHS fiscal contractor

shall make direct reimbursement to the pharmacy for drugs used to treat

illnesses or conditions not related to the terminal illness. The hospice

provider shall supply the diagnosis code for the terminal illness when

contacted by the pharmacy. The pharmacy needs this information to

process the claim. Refer to clinical coverage policy 9, Outpatient
