Patient Self Determination Act

The Patient Self Determination Act of 1990, Sections 4206 and 4751 of the Omnibus

Budget Reconciliation Act of 1990, P.L.101-508 requires that Medicaid-certified hospitals

and other health care providers and organizations give a beneficiary information about

their right to make their own health decisions, including the right to accept or refuse

medical treatment.
