Contracts - Interpreting in a Way to Enforce the Parties’ Intentions
If possible, a contract should be interpreted in a way to enforce the parties’ intentions.
You should look at the language in the contract to decide what the parties’ intentions were. If the
contract does not address an important condition or term, then you can look to evidence outside
the contract. A word in a contract should be interpreted using its ordinary and usual meaning
unless the contract makes it clear that there is a legal or technical meaning to the word.

Proposed Mississippi Plain Language Model Jury Instructions - Civil 703 (current as of February 17, 2012). Submitted in 2012 by the Mississippi Model Jury Instructions Commission (created by the Supreme Court of Mississippi by order of December 30, 2008) and published by the Court on courts.ms.gov. The Court states that these model jury instructions have not been adopted or approved by the Supreme Court of Mississippi.
