FILING A CLAIM
• A claimant must submit a claim on the SBM claim form and provide sufficient evidence of a reimbursable loss.
• A claimant must, during the pendency of the claim, remain in contact with the SBM and provide updates and additional information as necessary or requested by staff.
• Claimants do not need to hire an attorney to file a claim; however, all SBM licensees are urged to provide pro bono assistance to any claimant who requires assistance in presenting a claim to the Fund, and no attorney may be compensated for services regarding the CPF application process or the CPF claim administration process beyond a fee of $250, except as authorized by the Board.
