Other Hospice Covered Services
Other services that may be necessary due to the terminal illness and must be available but are not
considered core services are:
• Drugs*/Biologicals
• Home Health Aide services
• Homemaker services
• Medical Supplies/Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
• Occupational Therapy
• Physical Therapy
• Short-Term Inpatient care
• Speech Therapy
These other services may be provided by contractual agreement or provided by the hospice directly and
are not reimbursed separately.
*Although the drug AZT (Retrovir) is related to the terminal illness of AIDS, MDHHS
reimburses the pharmacy separately for a hospice beneficiary receiving AZT.
