Charles Cnty. Cir. Ct. Civil DCM Plan 6

Reissuance of a Summons

activein force · 2026-09-30 – presentact-effective-date

Reissuance of a summons will neither toll the deadline

for a Motion for Alternative Service, nor will it prevent the issuance of a Notice of

Dismissal under Md. Rule 2-507 for failure to obtain jurisdiction over a party.

Further, reissuance of summonses will not generate a new notice and/or scheduling

order, upon service of any co-defendants, based on the date of reissuance. If no

affidavit of service is on file with the Clerk’s Office within 30 days of the re-issuance

of a summons, a status hearing will be set.
