Procedure When Domestic Action Case is Filed
(a) Case Number. If the initial information report discloses a prior proceeding between
the parties in this Court, the action shall be filed in that prior proceeding, unless the action is a new
paternity proceeding. No new action shall be filed in a domestic violence proceeding.
(b) Contempt. If the action involves a request to find a person in contempt, Clerk’s Office
personnel shall forward the file to the court (magistrate or judge) for consideration in accordance
with Md. Rule 15-200.
(c) Other Actions. In any other action, the procedures set forth in paragraph 2.4 shall be
followed when an answer is filed.
