Calvert Cnty. Cir. Ct. Criminal DCM Plan 1.3
Withdrawal of Counsel
Pursuant to Maryland Rule 2-132, unless a litigant has another
attorney of record, attorneys must file a motion to withdraw their appearance. The rule also states
in part that “the court may deny the motion if withdrawal of the appearance would cause undue
delay, prejudice, or injustice.” Therefore, if there is any matter scheduled in the case within thirty
(30) days of a motion to withdraw, extenuating circumstances may have to exist in order for the
court to grant the motion. Extenuating circumstances may include safety concerns or issues of
perjury.

Unofficial copy of government-published law, reproduced from official sources with full provenance. Not an official publication; verify against official sources before relying on it in a filing. Records in the 'guidance' corpus, and only that corpus, are sub-regulatory (interpretive guidelines, survey procedures) and are not binding law. Validity bounds follow each jurisdiction's declared temporalBasis.
