Amended Omnibus Administrative Order Rescinding Obsolete Orders
IN THE SUPREME COURT OF MARYLAND
AMENDED OMNIBUS ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER
RESCINDING OBSOLETE ORDERS
Whereas, certain administrative orders have been issued to replace prior existing
orders without rescinding the outdated orders; and
Whereas, Legislative and Rules changes have superseded certain prior
administrative orders that have not been rescinded; and
Whereas, having such orders remain extant risks creating confusion,
Now, therefore, I, Matthew J. Fader, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of
Maryland and administrative head of the Judicial Branch, pursuant to the authority
conferred by Article IV, § 18 of the Maryland Constitution, do hereby order this 8th day
of December 2025, nunc pro tunc to October 7, 2022:0F
1. That the Administrative Order on Suspending MD Rule 4-271(a)(2) for Cases
Transferred to Baltimore City Circuit Court filed March 31, 1989, is hereby
2. That the Administrative Order on Suspending MD Rule 4-271(a)(2) for Cases
Transferred to Harford County Circuit Ct. filed July 31, 1990, is hereby rescinded
and archived.
3. That the Administrative Order concerning Maintenance of Dockets in the Circuit
Court for Baltimore County filed September 12, 1991, is hereby rescinded and
archived.
4. That the Administrative Order concerning Continuances for Conflicting Case
Assignments or Legislative Duties filed April 26, 1995, is hereby rescinded and
archived.
5. That the Administrative Order As to the Application of MD Rule 4-271 in Cecil
County filed February 4, 2004, is hereby rescinded and archived.
1 As originally entered, this Order also rescinded and archived the November 22, 1989
Administrative Order concerning the Standard Page Rate for Appellate Briefs. That Order
was rescinded in error and remains the operative order establishing the per page rate for
the reproduction of copies of briefs, appendices, and record extracts in the appellate courts.
See Rule 8-608(c) (stating that the Supreme Court should, from time-to-time, establish a
uniform page rate for reproduction of briefs, appendices, and record extracts).
6. That the Administrative Order Adopting Rules of Procedure for Appellate and Trial
Courts Judicial Nominating Commissions filed June 25, 2007, is hereby rescinded
and archived.
7. That the Revised Administrative Order Adopting Rules of Procedure for Appellate
and Trial Courts Judicial Nomination Commissions filed August 29, 2007, is hereby

Commissioners filed November 26, 2013, is hereby rescinded and archived.
11. That the Administrative Order concerning the Conclusion of Video Conferencing
Pilot Programs filed December 18, 2013, is hereby rescinded and archived.
12. That the Administrative Order concerning Access by the State’s Attorneys and the
Office of the Public Defender to Certain Case Records in Juvenile Delinquency
Cases filed February 24, 2015, is hereby rescinded and archived.
13. That the Revised Administrative Order Adopting Rules of Procedure for Appellate
and Trial Courts Judicial Nominating Commissions filed April 7, 2015, is hereby

of Real Property Instruments in the Circuit Court filed January 21, 2016, is hereby

17. That the Administrative Order Concluding Pilot Projects in Anne Arundel and
Wicomico Counties Permitting Commissioners to File and Update Certain Records
in the Circuit Courts via MDEC and Authorizing the State Court Administrator to
Proceed with Implementation in MDEC Jurisdictions filed March 6, 2018, is hereby
18. That the Administrative Order on Guiding the Response of Circuit Courts Sitting as
Juvenile Courts to the COVID-19 Emergency as it Relates to those Juveniles who
are Detained, Committed Pending Placement or in Commitments filed April 13,
2020, is hereby rescinded and archived.
19. That the Administrative Order on Guiding the Response of the Trial Courts of
Maryland to the COVID-19 Emergency as it Relates to those Persons who are
Incarcerated or Imprisoned filed April 14, 2020, is hereby rescinded and archived.
