ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER APPROVING UPDATED ADMINISTRATIVE AND

PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES OF THE ATTORNEY GRIEVANCE

COMMISSION OF MARYLAND

WHEREAS, Maryland Rule 19-702(h)(1) provides that the Attorney Grievance

Commission of Maryland (“the Commission”) has the power and duty to “recommend to

the Court of Appeals the adoption of procedural and administrative guidelines and policies

consistent with” Title 19, Chapter 700 of the Maryland Rules; and

WHEREAS, the Commission has recommended the adoption of amendments and

additions to its existing Administrative and Procedural Guidelines; and

WHEREAS, the updated Administrative and Procedural Guidelines recommended

by the Commission have been presented to and considered by the Court,

NOW THEREFORE, it is this 23rd day of November, 2021,

ORDERED, by the Court of Appeals of Maryland, that the updated Administrative

and Procedural Guidelines of the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland are hereby

approved and adopted in accordance with Maryland Rule 19-702(h)(1).

Our Mission

The Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland is dedicated to protecting the

public and maintaining the integrity of the legal profession. The Commission,

through the Office of Bar Counsel, seeks to encourage and promote the ethical

practice of law and the highest standards of professionalism by members of the Bar.

In carrying out their functions of evaluating complaints and enforcing ethical

standards for lawyers, the Commission and Bar Counsel strive for fairness and

equity.
