Supreme Court of Kentucky

2026-29

IN RE: ORDER IMMEDIATELY SUSPENDING SCR 3.503(6) AND SCR

3.504(3)(e)

Supreme Court Rule (“SCR”) 3.503(6) and SCR 3.504(3)(e) require

applicants seeking reinstatement and restoration, respectively, after a

withdrawal or suspension prevailing longer than five years to take a short-form

examination, often referred to as the “Mini-Bar." The 2026 proposed

amendments to the Supreme Court Rules on Attorney Discipline, with a

proposed effective date of July 1, 2027, call for the elimination of this

requirement.

The Court, having voted to amend (“SCR”) 3.503(6) and SCR 3.504(3)(e)

to eliminate this requirement, hereby ORDERS that the requirement in (“SCR”)

3.503(6) and SCR 3.504(3)(e) to complete a short-form examination is

suspended, effective immediately.

All sitting; All concur.

Entered this 18th day of August 2026.
