Ky. Sup. Ct. Order 2026-28 § 2
Honorary Memberships
The Board may, by resolution, confer honorary membership upon individuals
who have attained the age of seventy-five (75) years, maintained membership in
the Association for fifty (50) years, or achieved exceptional professional
distinction. Such designation may be granted for life or for a term specified by
the Board. Honorary members shall be exempt from the payment of dues and
from the continuing legal education requirements under SCR 3.645.
An honorary member who is no longer engaged in the active practice of law shall,
upon written notice to the Executive Director, be classified as inactive and be
exempt from the requirements of Supreme Court Rule 3.024. An inactive
honorary member may provide pro bono legal services through a duly organized
legal aid program or a local bar association pro bono initiative.
An inactive honorary member may request reclassification to active status by
submitting written notice to the Executive Director.
