ORDER
In Re: Amending the Supreme Court Rules
The following amendments to the Supreme Court Rules shall be effective
January 3, 2025:
SCR 4.300, Rule 4.1. Political and Campaign Activities of Judges and
Judicial Candidates in General
Section 11 of the Commentary to SCR 4.300, Rule 4.1 shall read:
[11] Paragraph A(10) does not prohibit a judge from taking campaign
photographs or video in his or her courtroom, provided that no court resources
are used. In addition, Paragraph A(10) does not prohibit court staff from using
their own time, while not being paid as court staff, to assist in a campaign for
judicial office consistent with Part III of the Administrative Procedures of the
Kentucky Court of Justice, Personnel Policies.
This order shall be effective upon entry and until further order of this
Court.
