Order Appointing Chairs to Judicial Nominating Commissions and

Judicial Selection Committee

Indiana Code sections 33-33-2-33, 33-33-45-28, 33-33-71-30, and 33-33-49-13.1 authorize

the Chief Justice to designate the chairpersons of the Allen, Lake, and St. Joseph County

Judicial Nominating Commissions and the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee.

On June 2, 2021, this Court entered an order designating Justice Christopher M. Goff as

chair of the Allen County Judicial Nominating Commission, Justice Steven H. David as the ex

officio chair of the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee, Justice Mark S. Massa as

chair of the Lake County Judicial Nominating Commission, and Justice Geoffrey G. Slaughter

as chair of the St. Joseph County Nominating Commission. These appointments began July 1,

2021, and were set to conclude June 30, 2025, or until further order of the Court.

On August 5, 2022, this Court appointed Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush to serve as the ex

officio chair of the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee, effective September 1, 2022.

Then, on May 14, 2024, this Court appointed Justice Derek R. Molter as the ex officio chair of

that Committee, to serve until May 14, 2028, or further order of the Court.

The Chief Justice now designates the following chairs, effective immediately, through

June 30, 2028, or until further order of the Court:

• Allen County Judicial Nominating Commission: Justice Christopher M. Goff

• Lake County Judicial Nominating Commission: Justice Mark S. Massa

• St. Joseph County Judicial Nominating Commission: Justice Geoffrey G. Slaughter

• Marion County Judicial Selection Committee: Justice Derek R. Molter
