Gary City Drug Court Program
LR45-01-1 Program Implementation
The Gary City Court established a drug treatment court effective September 18, 1996, named
“Gary City Drug Court – Second Chance Program” (hereinafter “Gary City Drug Court”),
and which has been in continuous operation since that date. The 2010 General Assembly
adopted legislation that redesignated drug treatment courts as problem-solving courts. Gary
City Drug Court is a specialized docket for certain adults with criminal cases in Gary City
Court who have substance abuse problems that have contributed to their legal issues. Gary
City Drug Court has been and remains certified by the Indiana Judicial Center.
LR45-01-2 Payment of Fee Required
For the continued operation of said program, and pursuant to Title 12 of the Indiana Code, it
is mandatory that each person referred to the program pay a fee for said services.
LR45-01-03 Fee Schedule
Those persons directed to participate in the Gary City Drug Court Program shall pay a $50
administrative fee as well as a problem-solving court services fee of $50 for each month of
problem-solving court participation beginning with the second month of participation in
accordance with IC 33-23-16-23. The clerk of the court shall collect and transmit these fees
within thirty (30) days after the fees are collected, for deposit by the city controller’s office in
the city user fee fund established under IC 33-37-8.
