B98 Autoclosures

activein force · 2025-08-27 – presentcompiled-edition

When a hospice provider receives a claim denial for explanation of benefits (EOB) code 2026 – Member

not eligible for the level of care for the dates of service and revenue codes billed, it can possibly be related

to a B98 autoclosure as a direct result of prior nursing facility provider billing or the hospice provider

inappropriately billing patient status.

In those circumstances, it is the responsibility of the nursing facility to provide the necessary documentation

to the Long Term Care Help Desk. The help desk may be reached at 317-488-5094. The hospice will

continue to receive a denial for EOB 2026 until the B98 autoclosure.
