Medicare or Medicaid Eligibility Changes During the Month

activein force · 2025-08-27 – presentcompiled-edition

A Medicaid-only hospice member residing in a nursing facility can become Medicare-eligible during a one-month billing period. Inversely, a dually eligible (Medicare and Medicaid) hospice member residing in a

nursing facility can become a Medicaid-only hospice member during a one-month billing period. The

change in eligibility status changes how the hospice provider completes the claim for those dates of service.
