Impeachment – Defendant – Prior Offenses
ICJI 322 IMPEACHMENT -- DEFENDANT -- PRIOR OFFENSES
Evidence of defendant's previous conviction of an offense may be considered by you only as it may affect the defendant's believability as a witness. You must not consider it as evidence of the defendant's guilt of the offense[s] charged in this case.
Comment
The court must decide that the offense is a felony and relates to credibility.
