IN THE SUPREME COURT OF THE STATE OF HAWAI‘I
In the Matter of the Assignment of the Judges of the State of Hawai‘i
ORDER OF DESIGNATION (By: Recktenwald, C.J.)
Pursuant to Hawai‘i Revised Statutes (HRS) § 604A-1(b) (2014) and HRS § 604-2, I hereby designate the several district court per diem judges of the District Courts of the First, Second, Third, and Fifth Circuits to act as district environmental court judges in their respective circuits, on an as-needed basis, to hear such environmental court matters as shall be assigned to them. This designation shall be effective upon the filing of this order and shall remain in effect until otherwise ordered.
This designation shall also apply to any per diem judge who may hereinafter be appointed and qualified as a per diem district judge of the First, Second, Third, or Fifth Judicial Circuit and shall be effective immediately upon his or her signing of the oath of office.
