LICENSE REVOCATION OFFICE CASES FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF
THE HAWAI'I ELECTRONIC FILING AND SERVICE RULES

By order filed August 30, 2010, this court adopted the
Hawai'i Electronic Filing and Service Rules (HEFSR). HEFSR Rule
2.1 makes the HEFSR applicable to all cases included in the
Judiciary Information Management System (JIMS) and HEFSR Rule 4.1
requires attorneys with cases in JIMS to register for electronic
filing, unless exempted. By order filed August 31, 2010 we
exempted all traffic cases and cases filed in the Administrative
Driver’s License Revocation Office (ADLRO)from the e-filing
requirement. The JIMS system will be ready for electronic filing

of criminal cases in the District Courts, including, criminal
traffic cases, on June 18, 2012 or soon thereafter.
Therefore,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that our August 31, 2010 “Order
Exempting Traffic and Administrative Driver’s License Revocation
Office Cases from the Requirement of the Hawai'i Electronic Filing
and Service Rules” is vacated.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, pursuant to HEFSR Rules 2.1 and
4.1 and until further order of this court, that the HEFSR shall
not apply to civil traffic and ADLRO cases.
