Circuit Court Filing Fees and Costs
The following is a summary of the most frequently applied court filing fees and costs.
(Effective January 1, 2014)

Civil Actions (e.g. Complaints)/Special Proceedings, including Special Proceedings filed $315
by prisoners
Demand for jury trial, including without limitation, probate cases, appeals to the circuit $200
court, and cases transferred to the circuit court from the district court (this fee to be
paid to the court in which the demand is filed by the party first making the demand)
Transfer of District Court action to Circuit Court (to be paid in addition to fees assessed $240

Description of Cost Charge
Copies of any document in any public record maintained by the clerk:
- in the clerk=s office $1.00 first page,
$.50 each additional page
-in an off-site storage location $5,
plus applicable copying charge
- on microfilm $5 when provided by the clerk,
plus $1 per page
- on microfilm (self-service) $1 per page
Telefaxing of any document in any public record:
- Within Hawaii $2 first page,
$1 each additional page,
plus applicable charges
- outside Hawaii, within the United States $5 first page,
$2 each additional page,
plus applicable charges
- outside the United States $10 first page,
