LEGAL CAUSE — RETALIATION

Protected activity is a legal cause of [discharge] [suspension] [demotion] [or] [(describe adverse employment action)] if the [discharge] suspension] [demotion] [or] [(describe other adverse employment action)] was taken against (claimant) because (claimant) engaged in protected activity.

To determine that (defendant) (describe adverse employment action) (claimant) because of (claimant’s) (describe protected activity), you must decide that (defendant) would not have (describe adverse employment action) (claimant) if (claimant) had not (describe protected activity).
