Indictment
INDICTMENT
The defendant is charged with the crimes of [state charges]. The Defendant
has pleaded not guilty. A copy of the indictment is attached to these instructions.
You must keep in mind, however, that the indictment is merely the process
by which a charge is brought against the defendant. It is not in itself any evidence
of the guilt of the defendant. You should not allow yourselves to be influenced in
any way, however slight, by the fact that an indictment has been returned against
the defendant.
