Extortion [Harm to Health, Safety, Business, Relationship]
EXTORTION
In order to find Defendant guilty of Extortion, you must find the State has
proved the following three (3) elements beyond a reasonable doubt:
(1) Defendant compelled or induced another person to give property to
Defendant, or to a third person;
(2) Defendant instilled fear in the other person that if the person did not give
up the property, Defendant would perform an act calculated to materially harm the
other person’s health, safety, business, calling, career, financial condition, reputation
or personal relationships; and
(3) Defendant acted intentionally.
“Intentionally” means it was Defendant's conscious objective or purpose to
appropriate the property.
