Attempt to Commit a Crime
ATTEMPT TO COMMIT A CRIME
In order to find Defendant guilty of an attempt to commit a crime you must
find the State has proved the following two (2) elements beyond a reasonable
doubt:
(1) Defendant engaged in conduct which, under the circumstances as
Defendant believed them to be, would constitute a crime; and
(2) Defendant acted intentionally.
“Intentionally” means it was Defendant’s conscious objective or purpose to
engage in the conduct.
