Effect of Guilty Plea
EFFECT OF PLEA OF GUILTY
The evidence shows that [plaintiff / defendant’s name] pleaded guilty to a
motor-vehicle charge. A guilty plea to a charge of violating a motor-vehicle statute
is admissible in evidence as an admission against interest. Once admitted, it is up to
you to draw any conclusions about the guilty plea. Remember to base your decision
on all the facts and circumstances of the case, including [plaintiff / defendant’s
name]’s explanation for pleading guilty.
