Broker’s Duties

DUTY OF A BROKER

A broker has a duty to serve the client with good faith and loyalty in all matters

falling within their relationship. The broker is bound to use reasonable diligence in

carrying out the duties required or reasonably expected by the client. Reasonable

diligence means the skill and judgment that brokers with similar responsibilities

would be expected to apply under similar circumstances. Good faith and loyalty

mean that the broker will act honestly and without self-interest to further the best

interests of the client.
