Start Date of Service

7.3.1 The hospice begin date is determined by Medicaid as one of the following:

• The begin date on the patient’s election statement.

• The date of the hospice election written notification (if section 7.1. is not

adhered to).

• The start date of Medicaid eligibility.

• The following day after revocation of care from another DMAP Hospice

provider.
