Conn. Practice Book § 38-5
Release by Correctional Officials
Any person who has not made bail shall be
detained in a correctional facility and shall be
released from such institution upon entering into
a recognizance, with sufficient surety, or upon
posting cash bail as provided in Sections 38-7
and 38-9 for his or her appearance before the
court having cognizance of the offense, which are
to be taken by any person designated by the Commissioner of Correction at such institution where
such person is detained. The person so designated shall deliver the recognizance or cash bail
to the clerk of the appropriate court before the
opening of such court on the first court day thereafter.
