The elements of the crime of unlawful carrying of a firearm in a

government building are:

1. That the defendant,

2. in the State of Colorado, at or about the date and place charged,

3. knowingly,

4. carried a firearm, whether loaded or not loaded,

[5. on the property of or within any building, or its adjacent

parking area, in which

[6. the chambers, galleries, or offices of the general assembly, or

either house thereof, were located.]

[6. a legislative hearing or meeting of the general assembly was

being conducted.]

[6. the official office of any member, officer, or employee of the

general assembly was located.]

[6. the chambers or galleries of a local government’s governing

body were located.]

[6. a meeting of a local government’s governing body was being

conducted.]

[6. the official office of any elected member of a local government’s

governing body or of the chief executive officer of a local

government was located.]]

[5. in a courthouse or any other building or portion of a building

used for court proceedings, or its adjacent parking area.]

After considering all the evidence, if you decide the prosecution has

proven each of the elements beyond a reasonable doubt, you should find

the defendant guilty of unlawful carrying of a firearm in a government

building.

After considering all the evidence, if you decide the prosecution has

failed to prove any one or more of the elements beyond a reasonable doubt,

you should find the defendant not guilty of unlawful carrying of a firearm

in a government building.
