OriginatingSiteBilling
Theoriginatingsite(originatingprovider)iswherethememberislocated.Foranallowableprovidertypetobillfortheoriginatingsitefacilityfee,thememberandprovidermustbephysicallypresentinthesamelocation.
TheoriginatingprovidermaybillforotherHealthFirstColorado-coveredservicesthatwereprovidedduringthesamevisitastheTelemedicinevisit.
Insomecases,theoriginatingprovidersitewillnotbeprovidingclinicalservicesbutonlyprovidingasiteandtelecommunicationsequipment.Inthissituation,thetelemedicineoriginatingsitefacilityfeeisbilledusingprocedurecodeQ3014.
Originatingprovidersbillasfollows:
Iftheoriginatingproviderismakingaroomandtelecommunicationsequipmentavailablebutisnotprovidingclinicalservices,theoriginatingproviderbillsQ3014(theprocedurecodeforthetelemedicineoriginatingsitefacilityfee).
Iftheoriginatingprovideralsoprovidesclinicalservicestothemember,theproviderbillstherenderingprovider'sappropriateprocedurecodeandbillsQ3014.
Theoriginatingprovidermayalsobill,asappropriate,ontheUB-04paperclaimformorasan837Itransactionforanyclinicalservicesprovidedon-siteonthesamedaythatatelemedicineoriginatingsiteclaimismade.Theoriginatingprovidermustsubmittwoseparateclaimsforthemember'stwoseparateservices.
