HealthFirstColoradoonlyreimbursesprovidersformedicallynecessaryservicesfurnishedtoeligiblemembers.
ThepurposeofthisbillingmanualistoprovidepolicyandbillingguidancetoproviderstoobtainreimbursementforSBIRTservices.Thismanualisupdatedperiodicallytoreflectchangesinpolicyandregulations.
Screening,BriefInterventionandReferraltoTreatmentisdesignedtopreventmembersfromdevelopingasubstanceusedisorder,forearlydetectionofasuspectedsubstanceusedisorder,ortorefermembersfortreatment.Theseservicesarenotintendedtotreatmembersalreadydiagnosedwithasubstanceusedisorderorthosemembersalreadyreceivingsubstanceusedisordertreatmentservices.MemberswhoarepregnantmaybeeligibleforadditionalsubstanceusescreeningandinterventionservicesthroughSpecialConnections,OutpatientSubstanceUseDisordertreatmentandthePrenatalPlusprogram.
