TheDepartmentconductsroutinereviewsofMedicaidcoveredservicestoensurethatprovidersarecomplyingwithbothfederalandstatestatutes,rules,andguidance.Thesereviewscantakemanyformsandinclude,butarenotlimitedto,prospective,concurrent,orpost-paymentreviewsofclaimsdata,medicalrecords,andlicensinginformation.Ifthesereviewsrevealnoncompliance,dependingontheissue,theDepartmentmayrecoveridentifiedoverpayments,requestawrittenresponseonhowtheproviderwillcomeintocompliance,and/orprovideeducationtotheprovider.
