Medi-Cal Provider Manual, Part 2, Hospice Care, Periods of Care
Periods of Care
Hospice services are a covered Medi-Cal benefit with the following periods of care:
• Two 90-day periods, beginning on the date of hospice election.
• Followed by unlimited 60-day periods.
A period of care starts the day Medi-Cal members receive hospice services and ends when
the 90-day or 60-day period ends.
