Alaska Criminal Pattern Jury Instruction 11.56.840(a)(1)
Failure to Register as a Sex Offender or Child Kidnapper - Second Degree
, the defendant in this case, has been charged with the crime of failure to register as a sex offender or child kidnapper in the second degree.
To prove that the defendant committed this crime, the state must prove beyond a reasonable doubt each of the following elements:
(1) the defendant is a [sex offender] [child kidnapper];
(2) the defendant was aware of the circumstances that triggered his duty to register as a [sex offender] [child kidnapper];
(3) the defendant failed to register as a [sex offender] [child kidnapper]; and
(4) the defendant did so knowingly.
